Hilarious
I haven't reviewed anything in ages but I thought I'd take the time to say something about this one. It was brilliant, the humour was perfect and the anti-climatic ending was hilarious, and well timed. Make more!

Brilliant
I am almost disgusted that this currently has a 3.22 rating - this EASILY deserves to have over 4, and an award. You animating style is amazing, and you draw beautifully, so I really hope to see more from you soon.
Waaaaaaaait a minute
Hang on - a boxcar? The opening spiel by the Pilot where he's listing things off really quickly? The quick cutaway to Pilot in church? The 'letter' joke? The movie clip used for speech? The bit where the guy in the store reacts when asked if he has any smaller bills? The end joke that seems far, FAR too familiar?
I'm sorry, but all the above things are far, FAR too reminiscent of a certain Internet cartoon I used to watch a lot. Let's be honest here - you watch a lot of Bonus Stage, don't you? Even the voice you used for Phil, sorry, the blonde guy, sounds EXACTLY like how Matt Wilson voices one of his main characters.
I'm not going to be as harsh on you as I was when reviewing the God-awful, disgusting, piece of shit series 'Ski Lift Pals' (don't waste your own time finding and watching it), but you REALLY need to get your own cartoon style. The animating style itself is pretty good, and you have the ability to tell a fairly decent story, but it really is far too derivative of BS for me to rate it any higher. Even the bits that WERE funny failed to make me laugh, because I couldn't help but think 'this is just taken from Bonus Stage'.
Ah. I agree with you that it is quite similar to BS. That's something I'm TRYING to get away from. But, I mean, my humor's pretty much been that way, even before one of my friends introduced me to BS a few months ago. Not much I can do there. The voice of Argyle, he was pretty much supposed to have a bit of a gruff voice (he's supposed to be some hot shot ping pong desperado or something) But that voice was so taxing on me, that it ended up degrading into that nasily type voice that it is now. Sorry if it's similar, but I'm sure that with time, I'll get my own style of sorts together. Everyone has to start somewhere.
Try again
Badly drawn and animated, and with one of those 'trying too hard to be random' scripts that really isn't very funny, imaginative, or clever. Just because you imagine having a character say stupid infantile crap like 'DUCKY DUCKY DUCKY' is going to sound totally zany and hilarious, doesn't mean it actually will.
Oh well, there are enough people on NG that find this kinda humour amusing to get this through the Portal, albeit with a rather embarrassing score.
Brilliant
First things first - ledgy, you are a dick, I can't believe you view a submission like this which has great animation and a nice little story, and simply say 'ARE YOU GAY?!?!'. In response to that, I have to ask if you're mentally handicapped.
Secondly - this little cartoon was great, perhaps a little short but the story it told fit the timeframe perfectly. I really like the drawing style also, it's very unique.
So yeah, good job! I hope to see more soon.
Thanks for viewing my profile! I've worked for a bunch of production companies including Aardman Animations and the BBC and I post about my experiences on NG. I also created the vaguely popular Steve series which I update once every million years. Whoops!
